 Hinojo marino, creciendo en acantilados y rocas cerca del mar. Es comestible, y se usa como encurtido macerado en vinagre.

Campos Verdes

de Asturias, claro! a la luz del cielo atlántico.
No pasa un Verano sin pasar por Asturias, qué creéis?
Aquí mis campos queridos de San Martín que tantas veces retraté.. Pinos y eucaliptos, sotobosque de helechos, retama y matos de zarza... y prados de intenso verdor como en ningún otro lugar..

Und jetzt kommen langsam manche Bilder vom Sommer... 
Hier in Nordsee, Iffens.. dort waren alle ganz, ganz fleissig. Von früh morgens bis spät abends gab es tausende Aufgäbe die man machen könnte. Langeweile hätte kein Platz dort. Hier ist Tiffani beschäftigt mit den Federn oder weisst man nicht... und nebenbei Matthias, auch mit irgendwas. Ich, war mit meinem Skizzenheft beschäftigt, diesmal :)

Y ahora poco a poco traigo algunos dibujos del Verano...
Aquí en el mar del Norte, en Iffens, donde todos eran muy, muy diligentes. Desde por la mañana temprano hasta la tarde había mil tareas posibles. El aburrimiento no tenía lugar acá.
En la imagen Tiffani con sus plumas  o alguna otra ocupación, y al lado Matthias, también con algo entre manos... y yo, con mi cuaderno de apuntes esta vez ;)

Osthafen

"Puerto del Este", quiere decir.
Desde final de Febrero vivo en Frankfurt Ostend. Es un barrio que se está regenerando y cambiando muy rápido.. Me gusta su mezcla, parte antigua y burguesa, parte pobre y obrera, parte moderna y en auge, especialmente por el banco central y las orillas del Main.. en unos minutos bajo hasta el río, y a la izquierda el panorama sigue siendo muy industrial y activo.. los muelles, canales, grúas.. por la noche oigo el aullido de algunos trenes que se acercan a la Ostbahnhof. Es una estación solo de mercancías.. a veces el chirriar va en crecendo, cada vez más claro y agudo y tengo que escuchar atentamente para asegurarme que no es algún vecino afinando un violoncello. Es muy curioso y misterioso el sonido de estos trenes...

USK Treffen in Darmstadt

The Weekend from 4th to 6th September there was a gathering of Urban Sketchers in Darmstadt, a city not far away, at the south of Frankfurt. I went there on Saturday, the weather was..(horrible!) not good at all! But it was great to meet all those nice and good sketchers! such a cosy, inspiring and creative atmosphere! I Hope to attend another meeting soon!

 

I did these sketches with the great pen Super5 that was a gift from one sponsor, the arts shop "Format"  I am loving it! Thank you!
And Thanks to the artists Jenny and Birgit for organizing such an amazing event!! 

Urlaub!

Liebe Leute!
ja, ich war lange weg. So viel zu tun am Schulende, und eine Woche weg in Iffens, Butjadingen, in einem Bauernhof in Nordsee, mit schöner Landschaft, lieben Tiere und gaaanz liebe Leute ;)
Nun habe ich leider nicht so viel Zeit um schreiben weil ich gleich nach Spanien fliege! So, hier nur ein erstes Bild! und mehr kommen am ende August!
Schöner Sommer an Ihr alle!

Al rico Molusco!

os dije que en mi huerto había sobrepoblación de babosas? Babosas rojizas americanas? (esto lo he oído hace poco, al parecer las negritas más delgaditas son las autóctonas, y estas gorrinas marronáceas está desplazando su población y jalando sin piedad todo lo que aparece en su camino)
Pues el Jueves fui al huerto tarde, después de regar empezaba a anochecer, y así húmedo y oscureciendo es cuando les gusta salir a estas babosas... sin esfuerzo me puse a recolectarlas en una bolsa, fue más eficaz que la cerveza, 74 babosas en menos de media hora, creo que unos dos kilos pesaría al final la bolsa..
Y a la pregunta, qué hice con ellas? paella? sopa? aplastarlas o matarlas? noo... tampoco las eché al huerto vecino ;) Me las llevé lejos hasta un área más urbana y allí en un prado las solté. Si habrán sido la cena de una familia de erizos? eso no lo sabré..

Last Thursday I went late in the evening to the garden. After working and watering, as the nightfall arrived, many Snugs started to appear in their way to the banquet.. Without effort I collected them. 74 samples in less than half an hour! 
At the question, what I did with them afterwards? nooo I didn't cook them! nooo I didn't throw them to neighbour garden, nooo I didn't squashed them and kill them. At last they didn't look that unfriendly to me. I just took them far away and let them in a green area in the city. If they were the dinner of an hedgehog family? I will never know...

Rabanitos carmín de mi huerto. A medias comidos por las babosas tragonas, de las cuales tenemos una buena representación viviendo allí.... pero la cerveza es su perdición!

Sphinx Moth

and this one is a real one, I found it last week coming home, on the portal stairs, it was quite good camouflaged in its fresh mossy green tones. It is beautiful, isn't it?

Y  tras las mariposas, una esfinge, pero ésta de verdad! La encontré la semana pasada en las escaleras del portal, camuflada astutamente en sus frescos tonos de verde musgoso.

These are the two first ones, inspired in spring and nature. My intention is to turn into many other subjects... But here the first shy try.

Caretos Sculpture

And what if the loved Caretos inside my head (or my heart?) come out this time not in paper, but as a 3D shape?  

I made those this Saturday, we have got a terribly raining and grey morning, perfect to sit at my terrace and  squeeze my fingers in the damp clay...

and still blooming the beautiful Linden. And there are so many different kinds! in different blooming stadium. I realize it each year: the one with more rounded leaves, with dark green, shining surface, the other silver with more pointed and sharp leaves and dry green tone.. the curly one... also the shapes of the tree are quite different.  I will have to check a Trees encyclopedia to know the true name of each..

Otra estación, los preciosos Tilos floreciendo y esparciendo en el templado aire de atardecer su fragancia dulce..

Sauces y patos

Muchísimos patos de diferentes familias, como si fuesen rebaños de ovejas pastando, pero en lugar de ovejas, patos... a las orillas del estanque en Ostpark. Otro nostálgico atardecer. Porque me olía a agua dulce, a lago, y me recordaba los primeros veranos en Berlin.. Están por descubrir los lagos de Hessen, un poco más escondidos quizás... os informaré en cuanto los conozca..

Sbahn Störungen

In Berlin the underground and regional train were not the best... but in Frankfurt they are a Katastrophe!
Yesterday it took me over two hours to get home. I worked somewhere out the city, a place among the wheat and raps fields.. I always take the bike in the train and then I ride... if I knew it, I would have ride all the way back home! but once in the train, it was a prison... so I passed the time by looking at the travelers. No one seemed to be worried or hurried.. thanks that they had their smart-phones with :D

En Berlin el transporte público no era lo mejor... pero en Frankfurt es una catástrofe!

Ayer tardé más de dos horas en volver a casa.. trabajo en un colegio entre campos de trigo y colza.. . voy con la bici en el tren y luego pedaleo hasta allá. Si hubiese sabido que el tren se colgaría ahí tanto tiempo habría vuelto en bici hasta casa. Pero una vez dentro del tren, me quedé prisionera. Nadie parecía preocuparse ni tener prisa... menos mal que tenían sus teléfonos! :)
