No.2 Records - Concerts

Two musicians, singersong writers, were playing in the small and nice music shop No.2 Records in Sachsenhausen this early year. Both American:  Jim Reed and Ian Fisher.
It was an intim and intense concert with sometimes romantic and sometimes ironic passages and we enjoyed it a lot.

A couple of months ago there was a Urbansketchers meeting in Aschaffenburg, a very nice city in Bavaria close to Frankfurt and along the Main River.
Even if it was quite cold and windy, we got to make a few sketches. Here is my contribution.

 After sketching outside, we went to the mythic Schlappeseppel brewery to eat some Wurst mit Kraut and drink some.. Bier of course 😋

Singersongwriters in Frankfurt

in March, one very cold Saturday, we went quite spontaneos to a music shop, No. 2 Records in Sachsenhausen, a beautiful neighbourhood in Frankfurt. There were playing two musicians, first Boohoo Music from Frankfurt. I don't find his website anymore, but it was a very lyrical music!
And afterwards 'Cannonball Stateman' from USA. A very different style, less slow, also indie and a bit heavmetal sometimes! I only could draw his rich, curly mane :D

Flamenco en Mainkur

El grupo "Collage" con cantaor, guitarrista y bailaora vistieron con música y baile la terraza de la estación de Mainkur. En las mesas, vino y paella. Y en el aire olorcito a gambas.. hmm qué cálida sensación!
Pero qué difícil pillar los movimientos e impulsos del baile flamenco! lo intenté, conste. La próxima vez espero que salga mejor!

A couple of weeks ago I was with Bela in Mainkur, the train Station, for a flamenco concert with dance. The ensemble was "Collage" and they did great music and performance! I will go next time for sure! I tried to catch the dancer but it was so difficult with the impulsiv and quick movements! next time will be better, I hope! ;)

Amadou et Mariam

Concierto al aire libre en el Palmengarten de Frankfurt.
Fue el Martes, al atardecer. Hacía un calor bochornoso y grupos pequeños de gente con picnics se desperdigaban por el prado a la espera del concierto. Y comenzó la música, llena de vida y ritmos africanos que pusieron a bailar al público entero, sin importar edad o condición. Era curioso observar y dibujar los diferentes estadios y reacciones del público mientras disfrutaba del compás colorido de la música.

Al final llegó la noche y la única luz era la que expulsaban los focos del escenario. Apenas podía ver mi papel ni los colores que utilizaba! aunque en color fui parca esta vez! ;)

Openair concert in Palmengarten. 
I was there on Tuesday evening, the 22th August. It was warm and humid and a lot of little groups had met on the park to make picnic before the concert started. And then the music started, a full of life and african rythms music, which got to dance every people, no matter age or condition! it was a funny expierience to observe and sketch these stadiums while feeling the colourful beats of the music. 
At last it was already dar k and the only light came from the stage in blue, red or yellow. I hard could see the paper and the colours I was using!

Gaststätte

So sieht eine Gaststätte in Franken ein Sonntag Abend aus. Leider das Gesang könnte ich nicht aufnehmen.. es gehört aber dazu, so wie die Äppler und Wurst.

Museum Wiesbaden

Kurz vor den Weihnachten haben sich ein Teil der Urban Sketchers Rhein Main Gebiet  in Wiesbaden zum zeichnen getroffen.

El pájaro loco

Wir waren lang im wunderschönen Wiesbaden Museum und haben meistens ausgestopfte Tiere gezeichnet.

Weil ich ausfestopfte Tiere nicht so gerne mag, habe ich mich entschlossen erstens für die Müscheln. Dann bin ich oben, die Kontemporane Ausstellung zu besuchen, und noch kurz in der Gotische-Renassance Sammlung mit Bilder und Bildhauerei auf Holz. Die schöne polichromierte Figuren hatten alle so einen zarten Ausdruck und so süsse runden Gesichter dass ich müsste mich beeilen um ein paar auf mein Papierblat zu sammeln bevor wir los müssen.

Maingold

ist eines meiner liebsten Café-Kneipe in Frankfurt. Dazu ist es nicht so weitweg von mir ;) 
Es ist charmant und gemütllich mit schönen alten Möbeln und warmem Licht, es erinnert mich irgendwie an Berlin.

Es un local peruano colorido y concurrido.. con olorcillo a pescado pero agradable :)
Ahi fui con Bela (y Finley) el Sábado. Y aquí algunos clientes.. Catalina la espía..

Ist ein peruanisches Lokal bei Merianplatz, ganz bunt und mit etwas von Fisch Geruch... aber angehnemer :) Da war am Samstag mit Bela (und Finley). Und hier ein paar Kunden.. Catalina Spion..

Sommerwerft 2016

Ist ein Festival für Theater und Musik in Frankfurt auf den Mainufer. Es hat was von frisch und lebendig, so rein und autentisch, dass wir hoffen dass es weiter bleiben darf!
Hier drei von der Musik Bands die ich gehört habe:

"St.Beaufort" aus ...Berlin! (bunt und gemischt), voll lyrisch und poetische Indie-Folk Musik

keine Ahnung mehr.. wer die waren, tut mir Leid!

Danny Dziuck und Karl Neukauf, aus Berlin, rein Ironie und Witz. Und beiden große Klavierspieler!

Es un festival de teatro y música a la orilla del Main. Tiene algo de fresco y vivo, puro y auténtico, y esperemos que siga existiendo. Aquí algunas bandas de música que pude oir, la mayoría de músicos venían de Berlin.. cómo no :P
