Wittelsbacherallee, Frankfurt Bornheim.

Another watercolor and pencil sketch on my neighbourhood, the beautiful Wittelsbacheralle that divides Frankfurt Ostend from Frankfurt Bornheim, I think!

The big plane trees accompany the curved street and the charming old buildings.

I drew this on a Sunday in Winter, the soft light, violet and ochre colors, the quietness of the street invited to sketch.

Osthafen

This is a view I enjoy every day walking or cycling to the Atelier. 

I choose this promenade close to the water. At the other side the industrial machines work day and night and move as robots. 

The evening sun falls on the colourful metalic containers and the iron of the bridge appears heavy and elder.

Nordendplatz, Frankurt

 Another sketch on location on my way, here the very lively Nordendplatz that has all to be a beloved meeting point:

Small bookshop, natural and home-made ice cream dealer, Café with tables outside...  and a playground for children under big chesnut trees...  In the sketch appear just the bike riders, Altbau fassade and the beautiful big trees... next time more :)

Waldschmidtstrasse, Frankfurt

 Hier ist eine Straße dass ich fast täglich bei Fahrrad durchfahre... Sie ist die direkter Verbindung zwischen meinen Standort in Ostend und westlichen Stadteilen wie Bornheim-Nordend, Nordend .. Sie fährt mir direkt zu Merianplatz, Friedbergerplatz usw....

Palmengarten ...

again!
We are having a very grey, dark, grey, rainy Februrary (not today!). It is also very cold, so on Sunday there is not much joy to go for a hike. That's why a couple of weeks ago I went for a walk to the Palmengarten in Frankfurt. There is cosy and green, and if it is raining you can go inside and feel a bit tropical, even if it is still dark and grey! 💚

 First I tried to stay outside, and I sat under a evergreen tree to paint this majestic Beech tree with oil pastels which are good when it is wet and raining... but the rain didn't want to stop so I moved inside to paint more greenery and the crazy Orchideas blooming! wow, they look a bit like aliens to me...

Feierabend im Fein

Fein, das feine Wasserhäuschen in der Grüneanlage..
Ich habe schon irgendwann ein Skizze von Ort hier gezeigt.. Aber nun kommen ein paar mehr.
Ist es doch ein geliebter Ort wenn das Wetter schön ist .. und dieser Frühling und Sommer können wir nicht meckern .. doch vielleicht etwas mehr Regen wäre nicht verkehrt! 😋

Flamenco en Mainkur

El grupo "Collage" con cantaor, guitarrista y bailaora vistieron con música y baile la terraza de la estación de Mainkur. En las mesas, vino y paella. Y en el aire olorcito a gambas.. hmm qué cálida sensación!
Pero qué difícil pillar los movimientos e impulsos del baile flamenco! lo intenté, conste. La próxima vez espero que salga mejor!

A couple of weeks ago I was with Bela in Mainkur, the train Station, for a flamenco concert with dance. The ensemble was "Collage" and they did great music and performance! I will go next time for sure! I tried to catch the dancer but it was so difficult with the impulsiv and quick movements! next time will be better, I hope! ;)

the British musician was playing in Sugarmama some months ago, and I sketched him.
It was very crowded, as this singer-songwriter has many fans in Frankfurt 👌 It is not a wunder, with his beautiful voice and songs, and his great guitar skills! He reminds me a Shakespeare's trovador 😌

Winter Ende

hier ein Aquarell Skizze vor ein paar Wochen in Ostpark, wie gewöhlich.. Nun geht alles sehr schnell, bald haben die Bäume wieder Blättern und die Landschaft verwandelt sich in ganz bunt und knalligen Farben.

Es beruhigt mich einfach dort zu laufen, herum zuschauen und zeichnen. Und gucken und hören was die Entchen und Vögel alles unternehmen! So viel los besonders nun dass der Frühling fängt an!
