Pencil studies after Bellflowers

So delicate and beautiful this purple or white flowers hanging as little bells!

Here I did some line sketches after two different sorts of them.

You can purchase them as prints in my ETSY shop, you can also let me a comment or write me if you are interested in the original drawing which might be still available.

Palmengarten ...

again!
We are having a very grey, dark, grey, rainy Februrary (not today!). It is also very cold, so on Sunday there is not much joy to go for a hike. That's why a couple of weeks ago I went for a walk to the Palmengarten in Frankfurt. There is cosy and green, and if it is raining you can go inside and feel a bit tropical, even if it is still dark and grey! 💚

First I tried to stay outside, and I sat under a evergreen tree to paint this majestic Beech tree with oil pastels which are good when it is wet and raining... but the rain didn't want to stop so I moved inside to paint more greenery and the crazy Orchideas blooming! wow, they look a bit like aliens to me...

Rhododendon Art Print

The 2018 has started with some very good news!

From October you could find -and buy- a fine art print of this Rhododendron pencil drawing in IKEA stores all over the world!💪
This is just the first one, in the new year you would find new prints. It makes me feel happy that many homes could have a beautiful botanical print from me, drawn with loads of love 😌😍
And I am so thankful to Ann and Rachel from Artpress who believe in my work and made this happen! 💖

"Centaurea cyanus"

Cornflowers, a bit of Summer in these Winter days.
I picked them in a corn field -the place to be- in Taunus last Summer.
They are so delicate, soft and beautiful... and so sad to hear that they are now endangered
because of  the massive use of herbicides!

Flores amarillas

Actually they look great together, like the pict here below:

Flora Vicia

I realize it each year: the one with more rounded leaves, with dark green, shining surface, the other silver with more pointed and sharp leaves and dry green tone.. the curly one... also the shapes of the tree are quite different.  I will have to check a Trees encyclopedia to know the true name of each..
