Schloss Johannisburg in Aschaffenburg

Aschaffenburg is a town not far away from Frankfurt, following the river Main to the East. It is no more Hessen but Bayern, more specific: Franken.
There, at the Main river shore is a big castle with many charming gardens, flowers and constructions which was the Summer Residence of the Prince of Mainz.. I think!

Winter Ende

hier ein Aquarell Skizze vor ein paar Wochen in Ostpark, wie gewöhlich.. Nun geht alles sehr schnell, bald haben die Bäume wieder Blättern und die Landschaft verwandelt sich in ganz bunt und knalligen Farben.

Museum Wiesbaden

Kurz vor den Weihnachten haben sich ein Teil der Urban Sketchers Rhein Main Gebiet  in Wiesbaden zum zeichnen getroffen.

El pájaro loco

Wir waren lang im wunderschönen Wiesbaden Museum und haben meistens ausgestopfte Tiere gezeichnet.

Weil ich ausfestopfte Tiere nicht so gerne mag, habe ich mich entschlossen erstens für die Müscheln. Dann bin ich oben, die Kontemporane Ausstellung zu besuchen, und noch kurz in der Gotische-Renassance Sammlung mit Bilder und Bildhauerei auf Holz. Die schöne polichromierte Figuren hatten alle so einen zarten Ausdruck und so süsse runden Gesichter dass ich müsste mich beeilen um ein paar auf mein Papierblat zu sammeln bevor wir los müssen.

Etsy Captain's Summit 2015

Hace... pues casi un año! el pasado Abril del 2015, hubo un encuentro de representantes de Etsy en Alemania al que fui invitada. El encuentro tuvo lugar cerca -más o menos- de Berlin..  en Wartin un pueblo de Brandenburgo profundo lindando con Polonia... granjas y castillos prusianos perdidos entre tilos y bosques de robles... campos llanos de ovejas peludas... los narcisos de pascua alegrando la hierba en sombra. Los groselleros floridos llameando en rojo magenta. Y ranas verde esmeralda destelleando entre la paja seca.. El palacio austero y tronado se desconchaba y así me encantaba. Restos de frescos en el techo, molduras de escayola y mucha madera: en el suelo crujiente y en los muebles, vigas y carpintería, enormes chimeneas de azulejos calentando cada recinto... entrando los rayos de Abril en el comedor. Ajenos al mundo, al presente.. Con un piano de cola aquí y otro allá.. partituras de Mozart y candelabros.. ah! creo que me están dando ganas de volver en Primavera.. y quedarme más tiempo esta vez..

El encuentro no lo puedo resumir tanto. Hubo muchas charlas de la amable y dispuesta gente de Etsy que habían venido de todo el mundo. Así como propietarios de tiendas en Etsy, artistas de diferentes campos (textil, ilustración, pintura, joyería..) Fue una inyección de inspiración que espero que fructifique en mi área con una comunidad más unida...

 I am nearly one year late posting this! But... never too late to do well.. 
This was the meeting of Etsy sellers in Germany with the Etsy Team who came from all over the world. We met in an old charming castle Wartin in deep Brandenburg, close to Poland. So quiet, forgotten, pure, peacefully, out of the noisy world ... I might go again to spend much more time. 

It was a totally inspiring meeting, with creatives of all branches with a lot of experience to share.. It will still take some time to fructify all the knowledge, projects and ideas that I took there with the aim to grow a solid Etsy team here in Frankfurt area..

Urlaub!

Liebe Leute!
ja, ich war lange weg. So viel zu tun am Schulende, und eine Woche weg in Iffens, Butjadingen, in einem Bauernhof in Nordsee, mit schöner Landschaft, lieben Tiere und gaaanz liebe Leute ;)
Nun habe ich leider nicht so viel Zeit um schreiben weil ich gleich nach Spanien fliege! So, hier nur ein erstes Bild! und mehr kommen am ende August!

Al rico Molusco!

os dije que en mi huerto había sobrepoblación de babosas? Babosas rojizas americanas? (esto lo he oído hace poco, al parecer las negritas más delgaditas son las autóctonas, y estas gorrinas marronáceas está desplazando su población y jalando sin piedad todo lo que aparece en su camino)
Pues el Jueves fui al huerto tarde, después de regar empezaba a anochecer, y así húmedo y oscureciendo es cuando les gusta salir a estas babosas... sin esfuerzo me puse a recolectarlas en una bolsa, fue más eficaz que la cerveza, 74 babosas en menos de media hora, creo que unos dos kilos pesaría al final la bolsa..
Y a la pregunta, qué hice con ellas? paella? sopa? aplastarlas o matarlas? noo... tampoco las eché al huerto vecino ;) Me las llevé lejos hasta un área más urbana y allí en un prado las solté. Si habrán sido la cena de una familia de erizos? eso no lo sabré..

Last Thursday I went late in the evening to the garden. After working and watering, as the nightfall arrived, many Snugs started to appear in their way to the banquet.. Without effort I collected them. 74 samples in less than half an hour! 
At the question, what I did with them afterwards? nooo I didn't cook them! nooo I didn't throw them to neighbour garden, nooo I didn't squashed them and kill them. At last they didn't look that unfriendly to me. I just took them far away and let them in a green area in the city. If they were the dinner of an hedgehog family? I will never know...

Sphinx Moth

and this one is a real one, I found it last week coming home, on the portal stairs, it was quite good camouflaged in its fresh mossy green tones. It is beautiful, isn't it?

Y  tras las mariposas, una esfinge, pero ésta de verdad! La encontré la semana pasada en las escaleras del portal, camuflada astutamente en sus frescos tonos de verde musgoso.

Lohrberg in Seckbach

last Sunday I was wandering with my bike just around, trying to know better the area where I am now living. I went further and further, and crossed under the highway to reach the other side, where Seckbach is. An old, carefully maintened village very close to Frankfurt. I climbed up (not so easy with bike) to the top of a hill, the Lohrberg park. Up there you could see the whole Frankfurt city skyline... though it was not that what I drew, but the fields skyline and the kind sheeps down in the valley...

Spree

heißt das kleine Dackel von Natalia und Juan.
Sie ist voll süß, nicht aber freundlich mit Umbekannten... es hat eine Weile gedauert bis da sie mit mir spielen und kuscheln wollte! :)

Is the name of the little "dachshund" dog of Natalia and Juan.
She is sweet, but not the most friendly pet! It took a long time until she wanted to play and cuddle with me! :)

Es muy mona pero no muy amigable con extraños! Tardó bastante en querer jugar conmigo y dejar que la acariciase.

I was totally impressed when I found this baby lizard in one of this walks through Brandenburg! I never saw a lizard in Germany before, and specially this kind of lizard! Searching in google I started thinking it was an "Ocellated Lizard" but it is quite impossible as they live nearly just in Spain and Italy. So it might be the "Lacerta Viridis" which distribution area is more possible (see the tiny spot in East Germany!!).. Anyway I was very happy!

Another day we found even a real snake! Someone said this little one was a Common European Viper, "Vipera berus", but I think it is a Smooth Snake or "Coronella Austriaca" Anyway, I didn't dare to take this one on my hand :P

Summer Holidays in Spain!

Dear people! I will be out a couple of weeks, traveling to Spain tomorrow. 
So please, be patient and wait until I am back with lots of beautiful spanish landscapes.
But I am not going without leaving you some nice pictures. The early summer in Rudow (where I ride escaping the city..), and a late evening watercolor.

Bartók

is the name of Hada's dog, who is sometimes visiting us at the working place. He is the most friendly dog I know in Berlin... well I don't know that big amount of dogs!
I like his happy palm-tree tail.

Bartók se llama el perrito de Hada (o perrita?). A veces nos visita en el estudio. Es el perro más simpático que conozco en Berlin! ( bueno, tampoco es que conozca tantos perros). 

Me gusta su cola alegre de palmera tropical.

Frankfurt Skyline

De Berlin fui a Frankfurt am Main. Aquí dos apuntes desde el ancho río, con muchas esclusas, barcos, restos de naves, lineas de tren que lo atraviesan y canoas que lo recorren.
Tres días de más de treinta grados, que estuve con Natalia y Juan, antes de venir a Asturias.

Los rascacielos, aglomerados sobre el río, en la lejanía, se escalonaban formando un montículo como cristalizaciones de una piedra, haciendo un perfil bonito.
Otra cosa era pasar caminando por el área donde estas torres se encuentran. En horarios de oficina parece una ciudad fantasma.

Liepnitzsee

El Domingo montamos Sonia y yo las bicis al tren y ni cortas ni perezosas nos fuimos a Bernau, para pedalear 12 Kilómetros al Liepnitzsee, que tanta gente me había hablado de él, y yo cuatro años en Berlin y aún no lo conocía. Es un lago de origen glaciar, entre  un bosque de hayas inmensas y rectas como pilares de una catedral gótica.

No hizo tanto sol ni calor como los días de atrás.. pero con ese agua quieta,  tuquesa y transparente como un cristal, era pecado volver sin darse un baño. Y mereció la pena, el agua templadita era una caricia..
Encontré un ciervo volante, el más chiquitín que nunca vi.. y sí, vi una serpiente gorda y escamosa deslizarse en el agua también.. pero no me importa, por suerte aquí no hay serpientes venenosas!

Y más perretes, pero estos, tranquiletes.
