The river walk was a surprising and rich botanical promenade.

Seeds of unknown tree. These seed like little shiny, coral beans are very usual in native accessories as earrings.
Semillas de árbol desconocido. Son habitas rojas brillantes como corales, muy utilizadas en accesorios indígenas.

Flores y frutos tropicales recolectados en el paseo del río en Valencia, que me sorprendió por la riqueza botánica.

Mirror of the sea, a hillside falling into a mediterranean bay.
White houses and purple bougainvillea, flooded the whole with an intense sunrise light and jasmine scent.

Altea es espejo de luz y mar, una colina que cae en la bahía mediterránea.
Casas blancas y moradas buganvillas, inundado el conjunto por la intensa luz del levante y esencia de jazmín.

Montfort gardens, also Valencia. A mixture of mediterranean, arabic flair and art nouveau romanticism..

The old river channel has left place to a long, green park. The river course was altered after the big flood of 1957.

El parque fluvial, que ocupa el cauce del antiguo río, desviado tras la inundación de 1957.

L'Albufera

is a natural park at the south of Valencia city. 
It was a Sunday, this last August. Very hot! All so light, all so bright! Also the water was quite warm, with nice turquoise color...  and a couple of pink lila, fat jellyfishes! so I didn't enjoy swimming as long and as much as I would have liked..
We made picnic under the pine trees. There was the perfect temperature, and the cicada's nonstop symphony invited us to a delicious siesta... ah, what a sweet existence!

Es el parque natural al sur de la ciudad de Valencia. Era un Domingo, en Agosto, tan caluroso!

Todo resplandeciente, todo luminoso! El agua también caliente, de un bonito turquesa.. y un par de gordas medusas lila y rosa.. así que no disfruté tanto ni tanto tiempo del baño como me hubiese gustado.. 

Hicimos picnic bajo los pinos... Allí era la temperatura perfecta, y la sinfonía continuada de las cigarras nos invitaron a una deliciosa siesta... ah, qué dulce existencia!

No, es una broma, no tengo ni idea de cómo se llamaba esta modelo. Es un estudio de desnudo de hace un par de años. Pero podría llamarse así, le va :)

El Miguelete

Here is the most well-known tower of Valencia, with its graceful figure. This is a view from the square Plaza de la Virgen.

It was a very hot Monday morning, I met with the urban sketcher fellow Esperanza, and we were very busy looking for shadows where we could rest and draw, if possible with an interesting perspective too.

La emblemática torre valenciana, de graciosa proporción, vista desde la Plaza de la Virgen.
Era un Lunes por la mañana, y me encontré con la Urban Sketcher valenciana Esperanza para dibujar. El calor ya apretaba y fuimos buscando como locas sombras donde poder pararse a dibujar, a ser posible con perspectivas interesantes.

Jardines del Real, Valencia

It is now 2 weeks ago that I came from my holidays in Valencia and Asturias... and directly landed to Berlin I got terribly sick. Now I am scanning the drawings and sketches from my spanish holidays and wandering with nostalgia about Summer and Spain..

Si, hace ya dos semanas que estoy de vuelta en Berlin.... y directa a la llegada, una semana completamente acatarrada! Escaneo los dibujos de mis vacaciones en Valencia y Asturias y me da nostalgia... de España y del Verano ..
