El Miguelete

Here is the most well-known tower of Valencia, with its graceful figure. This is a view from the square Plaza de la Virgen.

It was a very hot Monday morning, I met with the urban sketcher fellow Esperanza, and we were very busy looking for shadows where we could rest and draw, if possible with an interesting perspective too.

La emblemática torre valenciana, de graciosa proporción, vista desde la Plaza de la Virgen.
Era un Lunes por la mañana, y me encontré con la Urban Sketcher valenciana Esperanza para dibujar. El calor ya apretaba y fuimos buscando como locas sombras donde poder pararse a dibujar, a ser posible con perspectivas interesantes.

Jardines del Real, Valencia

It is now 2 weeks ago that I came from my holidays in Valencia and Asturias... and directly landed to Berlin I got terribly sick. Now I am scanning the drawings and sketches from my spanish holidays and wandering with nostalgia about Summer and Spain..

Si, hace ya dos semanas que estoy de vuelta en Berlin.... y directa a la llegada, una semana completamente acatarrada! Escaneo los dibujos de mis vacaciones en Valencia y Asturias y me da nostalgia... de España y del Verano ..

Mauer weg

Berlin, the way along where the berliner wall stayed.. not so many years ago. Now is a green and very quiet place where I go walking and writing my thoughts while I hear the spring birds. This time my thoughts were baptized by the rain that came suddenly when I was somewhere, not far away from my notebook which stayed open.. The weather is so unpredictable these days! in one minute changes from blue sky to dark and compact clouds ...

Mirlo cantarín, pero muy relajado, entre gorgorito y gorgorito se acicalaba muy afanosamente.

A lo largo de este camino se alzaba el muro de Berlín, no hace mucho tiempo.. Ahora es un paseo muy verde y muy tranquilo por donde camino con placer y escribo mis pensamientos mientras oigo los cánticos primaverales de los pájaros. Esta vez fueron mis notas bautizadas por la lluvia. No muy lejos andaba yo de mi bloc, que dejé abierto, cuando repentinamente llegó el agua. Últimamente está el tiempo totalmente impredecible, tan pronto el cielo azul raso, que en un minuto se vuelve una masa compacta de nubes oscuras...

Easter trip: Berlin-Usedom

Cycling!

It was the first time I did a more-than-a-day Bike trip, and it was really amazing, specially the nature and landscape, we were nearly always alone on the road, through conifer and beech forest, many times along the shore of some quiet lake, through shiny and slightly undulated rape fields. We saw many time wild animals that were surprised in the quietness of this sweet landscape.
Old roads, some times just sand paths, sheltered by centenary pear and cherry trees, lime trees, or thick trunk willows.
We also rode trough old "east-german" villages with beautiful scruffy houses and cobblestone roads.
I hang here the map of the route we did.

Second night: Wilsickow in Uckerland.

Grey Heron flanking the Ueckermünde, where the river flowed into a big lake which we crossed with ferry until Usedom.

At last! the so dreamy, windy and peaceful Usedom. Here Ahlbeck beach.. I will come back!

En Semana Santa hice la ruta "Berlin- Usedom" ( en el mar báltico) en bicicleta. Era la primera vez que hacía una ruta en bici de más de un día. Tres días de viaje, parando a dormir, y recorriendo aproximadamente 70Km al día.. 

Fue una experiencia fantástica! sentir cómo va cambiando el paisaje y vamos atravesando diferentes zonas al ritmo "humano" de la bicicleta, la mayoría de las veces solos en ruta, entre bosques de coníferas o hayas, muchas veces a la orilla de un lago tranquilo, entre radiantes y ondulados campos de  colza... Sorprendimos animales salvajes varias veces en nuestra ruta, despistados ante la presencia de intrusos en esa quietud natural.

Antiquísimas caleyas flanqueadas con perales o cerezos centenarios, tilos o sauces de troncos muy anchos, podados ya tantas generaciones..

Atravesamos pueblos de la antigua Alemania Oriental, de casas hermosas y desconchadas y calzadas de adoquines (que tanto me gustan, pero no con la bici :)

Y al final, tras atravesar en Ferry el lago de Uckermunde que separa Usedom del resto de tierra, llegamos, tras unas cuantas frondosas colinas de hayas -en las cuales yo ya no podía subir las cuestas- al mar! al tranquilo y somnoliento mar báltico.

Ein Weg nach Hasenheide

And trees, and forest.
Again Hasenheide, this Neuköllner Park at the evening time.
I couldn't sit, but I drew this standing, under a dark green, beautiful yew tree.
I met every kind of jogging-being. Really! I will illustrate and post some day the colorful range of running and  jogging-people who crossed along this way that evening, while I was drawing.
