St. Thomas Kirchhof

In Hermannstraße.
At the last minute of the last Sunday, after a very clouded day, it seemed as the sun wanted to say good night.
So I didn't feel like going home. Sundays are somehow gloomy days. I walked around in Neukölln and dropped into this quite graveyard. I already told you, graveyards in Berlin are very peaceful, beautiful and charming places (not like in Spain).
I didn't pay attention at the opening hours, I just went into the park and stopped to draw this promenade delimited by those gigantic, old plane-trees (Platanus).
This time of the year days are so long that I do not realize how late it is.
So I was ready to go, it was a bit colder, I looked at the distance and I saw all the fences were closed! I had a panic moment, I looked at my handy and saw it was already over 21h. I reached the doors, all were locked, and I didn't feel like sleeping in a Graveyard... I started to look how I could jump the fences.. I walked a bit more and I saw there was a light in the little house at the entrance! I had still chances! I rang the bell and a woman came downstairs and unlocked the door, so happily I could flight out!

Before the night arrived...

I drew this evening watercolor.  I came with my bike, direct from the work. I wanted to watch my vegetables evolution in the little garden that I am renting this year again, at the south of Berlin.
Oh! I love so much to go there. Yesterday was nearly empty, as the day was very rainy and it was already late...  Before ridding back home I decided to let in my sketchbook a souvenir of this moment, the day death. A sky full of clouds, the dark orange sun hiding between rains and rains, featuring an incredible beautiful scenery of all kinds of colors and clouds shapes that I can not show you!
Oh, how much I love the country side.

Linden tree flowers. Linden or lime trees, are the largest population of trees in Berlin. I guess more than the half?
And up the end of May, along June, their little rounded buds start to bloom, sparkling in the whole city, specially evenings and nights after warm days, their sweet and delicious fragrance.

Watercolor & pencil on Canson paper.
Size: 24x 32 cm, 9" x 12.5")

Faces and faces

but not as crazy as here :)
And more Train-Underground sketches /HERE/

Pencil drawings on Hahnemuehle sketch book.

Queer, it was last week..

Thousand people in the Opening, really!
And you can still visit the exhibition or going each Thursday to the many performances, until 10th August.

So if you wish to come and see me, you might also want to take part in the performance of Alex Giegold & Tomka Weiß 's Project, this Thursday the 3th July at 19.00.

Bartók

is the name of Hada's dog, who is sometimes visiting us at the working place. He is the most friendly dog I know in Berlin... well I don't know that big amount of dogs!
I like his happy palm-tree tail.

Last Sunday, by the bridge that follows the Prinzenstrasse. It was the Carneval of Cultures, a very crowded and popular festival in Kreuzberg. I went only at the very late evening, but it was still soooo hot that I had to leave and sit here in the grass, near the water.

Liepnitzsee

mein Liebling See!
my beloved lake! this is the best thing to do when the summer days are arriving with such a heat wave and strength: go out and out the city, scape to woods and lakes! But I am not the only one who thinks like that :P
